The Sr. System Programmer has 10+ years experience managing the configuration and maintenance of DASD in a ZOS mainframe environment along with associated vendor tools and utilities to support the environment.
Responsibilities:
• DASD provisioning and reclamation
• Ensure reliable cost-effective use of all tiers of mainframe storage
• ICF catalog administration and recovery
• DASD replication administration
• Apply DASD performance tuning for IMS, DB2 VSAM and general mainframe storage pools
• Perform problem determination and resolution as needed with application support and the Data Center operations
• Assist Disaster Recovery with backup and recovery policies
• Respond to inquiries and assist with problem determination and resolution
• Provide on-site coverage for the monthly IPL’s and emergency IPL’s
• Train and direct junior engineers
