 Ability to communicate well in technical and non-technical environments
 Willingness to help other colleagues and use knowledge acquired to improve team processes
 Team orientated, excellent customer & process focus, highly motivated and able to work in a pressurised environment
 A high level understanding of the platforms being supported including primarily Distributed Windows & Unix but knowledge of S/390, VMS, AS/400 & Tandem platforms as used within RBSG is also useful.
 Ability to take good decisions in high risk environment
 Ability to accept and manage a variety of demands on a day to day basis
The role covers the creation and maintenance of Systems Management monitoring solutions, primarily based around Tivoli and Opsware products, used to support and enhance the Distributed Windows & Unix infrastructures and the applications which run on them.
It also covers the resolution of day to day problems, minor ‘on request’ changes to enhance functionality and support the delivery of new Systems Management capability from projects into production ensuring that they meet the operational standard laid down.
Finally the role will cover the ongoing management and maintenance of the Systems Management infrastructure used as the core to delivery of the services.
