Required skills

Experience with hosting environments (CPanel, Plesk, etc) and virtualization software
Installation, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of Linux servers
Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers (networking and monitoring )
In-depth knowledge in networking, IP routing, mail servers, DNS, and file system management
Administer users, groups and permissions
Perform kernel recompilation and fine tuning
Perform system analysis, system testing, and security auditing
Perform the installation, configuration and maintenance of systems to support mission critical services
Implement steps to prevent DDOS attack and spam
Perform server and network service monitoring
Carry out firewall installation, configuration and its maintenance
Perform server migration, backup and restore management
Install, configure and manage large multi-node clusters on hard/soft/logical system partitions
Execute system services and process management
Provide support through email, telephone or chat in a 24x7 environment
Monitor remote servers for performance, uptime, latency, website status, web based application, server resources, etc
Create reports (monitoring, security audits, testing, etc)
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
Basic scripting knowledge in BASH, KSH, PYTHON, Perl, PHP, MySQL
Basic knowledge of Windows server 2003 and 2008 configuration and maintenance
Work experience on a cloud environment is an added advantage

2+ years experience as Linux Systems Engineer
Willing to work in rotational shifts
Experience in LAMP server setup, maintenance and fine tuning is mandatory
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Familiarity with various tools and methods for administering the Linux Systems infrastructure
Ability to work under minimal supervision and operate independently
Ability to handle periods of high stress and to multi-task
Ability to clearly articulate views / suggestions / comments
